2027 Graduate Hardware, Validation, and Product Engineering Internships - US (SSD Hardware)

Location: Rancho Cordova, California; work locations may also include San Jose, California, or other U.S. hirify.global locations

Compensation: up to $35 per hour

What you will do

• Support validation and characterization of SSD hardware, components, interfaces, and platforms.
• Execute test plans and verify electrical and functional requirements, including PCIe signal integrity, power integrity, and interoperability.
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and automated test systems to collect data and troubleshoot issues.
• Validate SSD behavior in system environments, reproduce issues, and support root-cause investigations.
• Analyze performance, power, thermal, reliability, benchmark, telemetry, and test-log data.
• Develop or improve test scripts, dashboards, and automation frameworks while collaborating with hardware, firmware, validation, and product teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Foundational knowledge of analog and digital circuits, computer architecture, or electronic systems.
• Experience with Python, C, C++, MATLAB, or another programming or scripting language.
• Familiarity with Linux-based development or test environments.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, or system integration.
• Familiarity with PCIe, NVMe, NAND flash, SSDs, data center server platforms, signal integrity, or power integrity.
• Experience with test automation, performance benchmarking, telemetry, log analysis, or test-framework development.
• Interest in applications engineering, technical marketing, or customer-facing technical communication.
