Director of Engineering (Power Distribution)

What you will do

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for approximately 30 engineers, designers, and technical specialists.
• Oversee engineering activities for heavy switchgear, power distribution equipment, and engineered electrical systems.
• Develop and scale the engineering organization through mentoring, accountability, performance management, and career growth.
• Act as the senior technical contact for clients and communicate requirements, schedules, and engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with project management, sales, estimating, manufacturing, and operations to deliver customer projects.
• Manage proposals, quoting, project scoping, engineering budgets, resources, priorities, and schedules.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in switchgear, electrical power distribution, electrical equipment manufacturing, or a closely related heavy industrial sector.
• At least 5–6+ years of engineering management experience leading sizable technical organizations; experience managing 30+ employees is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background with hands-on knowledge of heavy switchgear and power distribution equipment design and manufacturing.
• Experience connecting engineering operations with customer-facing commercial activities.
• Leadership experience in a highly visible role with accountability for technical direction, manufacturing impact, and people management.
