Plant Engineer (Power Generation)

What you will do

• Provide technical support for plant operations, maintenance, equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency issues.
• Analyze operating data, equipment condition, availability, reliability, failures, trips, derates, and protection-system events.
• Review plant modifications and projects involving generators, transformers, protective relays, AVR/excitation systems, governors, DCS/PLC logic, and related settings.
• Coordinate NERC Reliability Standards compliance activities, audits, self-certifications, regulatory inquiries, corrective actions, and technical documentation.
• Support generator model validation, MOD-025/026/027 activities, PRC testing, performance testing, outage and derate reporting, and technical data verification.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Asset Management, owners, OEMs, vendors, consultants, and compliance organizations; communicate findings and deliver technical training.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least seven years of power plant operations, maintenance, or engineering experience.
• Experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, transformers, protection and control systems, DCS/PLC systems, protective relays, AVR/excitation systems, governors, and plant control logic.
• Knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance, operating procedures, clearance and Lockout/Tagout procedures, and P&IDs.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, technical writing, organization, and project coordination skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization; English proficiency is required.
