Senior Middleware Systems Administrator (Infrastructure & Automation)

What you will do

• Install, configure, secure, maintain, and optimize enterprise application server environments and middleware clusters.
• Lead performance tuning, failover testing, disaster recovery planning, certificate management, and operational stability initiatives.
• Manage integrations with message queues, secure file transfer services, and Oracle or SQL databases.
• Serve as the final escalation point for complex production issues and resolve system bottlenecks.
• Build automation frameworks with Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting, and integrate middleware deployments into CI/CD pipelines.
• Document operational procedures, improve automation code, and mentor team members through reviews and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
• At least 5 years of enterprise middleware or application server administration experience.
• Advanced experience with enterprise application server clusters, including installation, configuration, and security management.
• Proficiency with Ansible, Python or Jython, Shell scripting, and UNIX/Linux systems.
• Experience with load balancing, junctions, network security, certificate management, troubleshooting, debugging, and change management.
• Ability to mentor team members and communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Liberty profile, modern containers, or other cloud-native application server architectures.
• Familiarity with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipeline management, and infrastructure as code.
