Principal Test Engineer (SDET)

Location: Hybrid role based in Vienna, Virginia, United States; Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Salary: $110,500–$141,600 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts, frameworks, tools, and reusable components.
• Build functional, integration, regression, system, web UI, and API test automation across multiple environments and platforms.
• Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, cloud engineers, QA teams, and product stakeholders on test strategies and plans.
• Investigate defects, analyze test results, report risks and trends, and support resolution of quality issues.
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement of testing practices.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Strong Java development skills and experience developing Selenium test automation frameworks.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, Gherkin, and XPath.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD tools, repositories, Maven, and automated testing for web, client-server, mainframe, SOA, SOAP, and REST APIs.
• Strong Agile, test strategy, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with YAML-based Azure pipelines and scripting languages for CI/CD jobs.
• Database experience, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
• ASTQB CTFL or CTAL-TAE certification.
• Knowledge of banking and financial-industry standards and practices.
