Senior Quality Lab Engineer (Lithium-Ion Batteries)

What you will do

• Conduct laboratory analysis for production support and root cause investigations.
• Perform chemical and materials analysis to improve processes and resolve production issues.
• Carry out failure analysis for battery cell quality and reliability concerns.
• Use analytical instrumentation to support manufacturing and cross-functional teams.
• Analyze process input and output data to reduce defects and improve battery performance.
• Support customer claims related to cell production quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, materials engineering, or a similar discipline.
• 8+ years of engineering or laboratory experience.
• Experience with chromatography, ICP, SEM/EDS, FTIR, TGA, or similar analytical tools.
• Experience with materials characterization, elemental analysis, or electrochemistry.
• Expertise in chemical handling and laboratory safety procedures, including potential use of extensive PPE.
• Familiarity with quality management tools such as control charts, FTA, and FMEA, as well as Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline.
• ISO 9001 quality management system auditing experience.
• Laboratory experience in high-volume manufacturing and analytical method development.
• Statistical process control and defect reduction experience.
