Manager, Sustainability Strategy (ESG)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas or Sparks, Nevada; valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required. Domestic and international travel of up to 30% is required.

What you will do

• Lead ESG programs covering ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Responsible Business Alliance assessments, GHG management, renewable energy, and external audits.
• Develop ESG project plans, roadmaps, risk registers, RACI charts, and progress tracking across functions and regions.
• Manage certification and audit readiness, including fit-gap assessments, internal audits, corrective actions, and onsite audit support.
• Support Scope 1–3 GHG management, life-cycle assessment carbon footprint calculations, and customer sustainability data requests.
• Coordinate customer- and supplier-facing ESG engagements, due diligence, emissions reduction, renewable energy adoption, and supply-chain risk mitigation.
• Maintain ESG KPIs, dashboards, executive reporting, human-rights due diligence, and compliance with global ESG regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of EHS experience and 2–3+ years working with onsite teams to deliver ESG targets.
• Practical experience in ESG operations, project management or PMO, and ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation.
• Experience with GHG accounting across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, life-cycle assessment, carbon footprint calculations, external audits, and ESG due diligence.
• Strong cross-functional and cross-regional communication skills with customers, suppliers, NGOs, and consultants.
• Business-level English and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or advanced studies in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or an ESG-related discipline.
• Native-level Japanese proficiency.
• Experience with renewable energy projects, supplier sustainability, decarbonization, battery materials, and manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of the EU Battery Regulation and global ESG regulatory frameworks.
• ISO auditor or practitioner, LCA/CFP, PMP, or equivalent certification.
