Crane Aerospace & Electronics develops aerospace and electronic systems and operates the Barksdale manufacturing facility in Los Angeles.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute the site's environmental, health, and safety strategy in alignment with business objectives and company standards.
  • Build a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, observations, training, and continuous improvement.
  • Advise site leadership on EHS risks, regulatory obligations, and compliance best practices.
  • Manage regulatory inspections, audits, investigations, permits, reporting obligations, and environmental records.
  • Lead investigations into injuries, environmental incidents, near misses, property damage, and regulatory findings.
  • Maintain emergency response, evacuation, spill response, business continuity, EHS metrics, and improvement programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, environmental engineering, occupational safety, public health, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of progressive EHS experience, including 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance, occupational safety, regulatory audits, permitting, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Strong knowledge of Cal OSHA, OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste regulations, environmental permits, and emergency preparedness requirements.
  • Strong project management, communication, presentation, employee engagement, coaching, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or REHS are strongly preferred; experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and regulatory agencies is preferred.
