Senior Android Power and Thermal Engineer (Android)

What you will do

• Analyze and optimize Android system power consumption across active, idle, sleep, suspend, and deep-sleep states.
• Investigate Android Power Manager, wakelocks, suspend/resume behavior, CPU idle states, DVFS, thermal management, and battery usage patterns.
• Debug power-related issues across the Android Framework, system services, HAL layers, device drivers, Linux Kernel, and firmware.
• Analyze BatteryStats, dumpsys outputs, Perfetto and systrace data, kernel traces, logcat logs, and vendor diagnostics.
• Correlate Android software behavior with electrical power measurements and identify excessive battery drain, wake-up events, thermal throttling, and performance bottlenecks.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Embedded Systems Engineering.
• 8+ years of embedded systems experience.
• Deep Android Power Management knowledge and strong Embedded Linux experience.
• Qualcomm SoC, PMIC, power architecture, Android Framework, HAL, Kernel, and driver debugging experience.
• Strong C/C++ skills and experience with power measurement equipment, system-level power characterization, schematics, and board-level investigations.
• Experience building structured validation and characterization plans and debugging power, thermal, and battery issues.

Nice to have

• Experience with DSPs and co-processors on complex embedded platforms.
