Sr. Cost Accountant (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Irvine, California, USA; hybrid with 4 days on site from Monday to Thursday

What you will do

• Support transaction processing, reconciliations, month-end close, financial statements, and management reporting.
• Develop and maintain cost frameworks and models for products, portfolios, production processes, yield management, and technology nodes.
• Analyze product margins, target costs, manufacturing cost drivers, trends, PPV, E&O, inventory reconciliations, and manufacturing variances.
• Contribute analysis for manufacturing optimization, capacity planning, technology investment, profitability, and cost competitiveness.
• Support internal and external audits, including schedules, documentation, inquiries, and recommendation follow-up.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, supply chain, and accounting teams while documenting processes and supporting cost-accounting tools and digital solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, financial reporting, or a related role; 5+ years of relevant experience is requested.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, financial reporting, and cost accounting policies.
• Experience with advanced costing methodologies, including activity-based costing and target costing, plus knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing economics and cost drivers.
• Advanced Excel and accounting software skills, with knowledge of ERP systems and cost modules; SAP is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, accuracy, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
