Principal Software Engineer (Semiconductor Test Systems)

Location: Beaverton, Oregon, United States; regular day shift. The position supports work with semiconductor manufacturing and test equipment at the designated location.

Salary: $94,100–$123,480 per year, depending on experience, skills, and background.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, development, integration, validation, release, and sustainment of software for semiconductor manufacturing and test equipment.
• Modernize legacy MATLAB and LabVIEW applications by defining migration strategies and implementing C#/.NET platforms.
• Develop interfaces for motion control systems, instruments, sensors, cameras, data acquisition hardware, and industrial automation components.
• Build real-time control, automation, data collection, diagnostics, logging, and monitoring capabilities.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and system-level testing frameworks and improve software verification processes.
• Lead root-cause investigations, technical reviews, architecture decisions, and cross-functional engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, with at least 5 years of related experience; equivalent education and experience may apply.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET and object-oriented software development.
• Experience developing and maintaining MATLAB applications, including migrating MATLAB code to C#/.NET.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment, automated test systems, motion control, machine vision, instrumentation, data acquisition, or industrial automation.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile development.
• Ability to collaborate across software, systems, mechanical, electrical, controls, applications engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product teams.
