Operations Supervisor

Location: On-site in San Francisco, United States

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 annual base salary, plus equity; final salary depends on experience, location, and other factors.

What you will do

• Lead a team of operations technicians supporting the design, deployment, and operation of pilot-plant mineral refining processes.
• Support performance reviews, scheduling, training, and hiring.
• Collaborate with engineers, R&D scientists, and technicians to operate and monitor mineral extraction chemical processes.
• Provide evening and weekend support for plant upsets and high-priority projects.
• Create and maintain EHS programs covering chemical handling, hazard assessment, high-risk activities, PPE, and waste management.
• Maintain operational data quality, plant organization, equipment readiness, procedures, experimental records, and shift reports.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role.
• At least 5 years of experience operating pilot-plant or commercial-scale industrial equipment in minerals processing, chemicals, specialty materials, oil and gas, biotech, or a similar industry.
• Leadership experience with LOTO, hot work permitting, confined-space entry, and safe work permitting systems.
• Experience using HMIs and plant software systems to monitor, control, and adjust process operations.
• Experience with hands-on equipment installation, modification, troubleshooting, engineering documents, and basic process chemistry.
• Ability to climb stairs, stand for extended periods, and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
