TL;DR
Avionics & Electrical Integration Technician (Aerospace): Building, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting electrical, avionics, and electromechanical hardware for autonomous cargo aircraft with an accent on wiring harness fabrication, PCB rework, vehicle integration, and system-level testing. Focus on diagnosing complex integration issues, installing and routing vehicle hardware, and improving assembly and test procedures.

What you will do

  • Build, modify, install, and troubleshoot electrical wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, avionics, and electromechanical hardware.
  • Perform wire preparation, crimping, splicing, connector assembly, soldering, PCB rework, repair, and continuity testing.
  • Integrate electrical and electronic systems into prototype and production-intent vehicles, including sensors, controllers, computers, and communication hardware.
  • Read wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation while performing mechanical assembly.
  • Use multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, continuity testers, and other equipment to diagnose electrical and system-level issues.
  • Support vehicle-level integration, checkout, testing, documentation, and improvements to routing, installation, assembly, and test procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience building and troubleshooting electrical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Proficiency with crimping, soldering, connector assembly, cable fabrication, and PCB or electronic assembly repair.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience using common electrical test equipment and systematically isolating integration problems.
  • Comfort with hands-on mechanical assembly, evolving prototype hardware, independent work, and close collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to workmanship and detail, organization, documentation, and ownership of work.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, automotive, robotics, motorsports, or other complex electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with avionics integration, Hardware-in-the-Loop systems, test benches, fixtures, validation rigs, sensors, instrumentation, or data acquisition.
  • Experience integrating CAN, Ethernet, serial, or other vehicle communication systems.
  • Familiarity with aerospace wiring and workmanship standards or prototype aircraft, unmanned aircraft, and electric vehicle platforms.
