TL;DR
Electrical Field Service Technician (Autonomous Systems): Deploying, integrating, maintaining, and repairing uncrewed surface vessel fleets with an accent on electrical troubleshooting, communications systems, and electromechanical integration. Focus on diagnosing complex vehicle issues in maritime and field environments, performing corrective upgrades, and validating repairs during sea trials, demonstrations, and customer deployments.

Location: On-site at the Quonset, Rhode Island facility when not traveling; approximately 50–75% travel, primarily within the United States, with international assignments as needed.

Salary: $110,000–$125,000 base salary, plus bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

  • Deploy to customer sites, test ranges, demonstrations, and operational locations to support uncrewed surface vessels and associated systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, communications, and integrated vehicle system issues.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, component replacement, system modifications, and software updates.
  • Support vehicle integration, sea trials, acceptance testing, demonstrations, and functional verification of repairs.
  • Prepare deployment equipment, tools, spare parts, service records, configuration histories, and field reports.
  • Work with engineering, operations, customers, and operators to resolve recurring issues and improve fleet reliability and serviceability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in field service, maintenance, systems integration, or technical support for complex electromechanical systems.
  • Strong hands-on electrical troubleshooting skills covering wiring, power, communications, and component-level issues.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, component installation, systems integration, and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, hi-pot testers, and serial communications analyzers.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, PCB schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50–75%, including multi-day or multi-week domestic and potential international assignments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with maritime, aerospace, defense, robotics, autonomous, or DoD systems.
  • Experience with battery systems, electrical power distribution, electric propulsion, or ICE propulsion systems.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Experience with configuration management and detailed maintenance records.
