TL;DR
Staff Product Operations Manager (Product Strategy/Portfolio Governance): Building scalable processes that connect product strategy, roadmaps, prioritization, and portfolio decision-making across a multi-product R&D organization with an accent on executive governance, analytics, and cross-functional alignment. Focus on integrating enterprise product portfolios, modeling investment tradeoffs with ROI and NPV analysis, and identifying resource conflicts across engineering and product priorities.

Location: Fremont, California, USA

Salary: $210,000–$230,000 annually for eligible positions in California.

What you will do

  • Build governance for product strategies, value propositions, target markets, and strategic objectives.
  • Integrate product strategies and roadmaps into an enterprise portfolio view.
  • Develop executive reporting on priorities, roadmap changes, dependencies, tradeoffs, and portfolio performance.
  • Facilitate cross-product prioritization and create tradeoff scenarios for leadership.
  • Coordinate with R&D Program Management and Engineering to identify capacity and resource conflicts.
  • Incorporate financial analysis, ROI, NPV, sensitivity analysis, and investment requirements into portfolio decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Operations, or related functions.
  • Experience in global, complex product-development environments; hardware, industrial technology, or engineering-intensive experience is preferred.
  • Experience with product roadmaps, portfolio prioritization, business cases, and executive governance.
  • Strong analytical, cross-functional leadership, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.
  • Experience developing scalable processes, dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting.

Nice to have

  • MBA.
  • Experience in hardware, industrial technology, or engineering-intensive industries.
