Director, AI

Location: Bellevue, WA, United States. Employees local to Bellevue or New York offices work hybrid, visiting the office 1–3 days per week; employees farther from an office may work fully remotely. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States.

Target cash compensation: $204,507–$269,942 USD annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead execution of the AI engineering roadmap across the Creative, Audience, and Outcomes product portfolio.
• Build, ship, and operate generative AI features, agentic workflows, retrieval systems, and applied machine learning capabilities.
• Own architecture and technical patterns covering model selection, orchestration, evaluation, guardrails, cost, and latency.
• Prototype concepts, write code, run experiments, review architectures, and validate approaches before production delivery.
• Hire, lead, and develop AI and machine learning engineers while partnering with Product Management, Data Science, and Platform teams.
• Establish evaluation, experimentation, observability, governance, privacy, and security practices for customer-facing AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience shipping AI or machine learning capabilities into production products used by customers.
• Working knowledge of large language models, agentic systems, retrieval architectures, embeddings, evaluation methods, and fine-tuning trade-offs.
• Strong foundations in distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, testing, and production operations.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in advertising technology, media measurement, marketing technology, or consumer insights.
• Experience operating agentic AI systems or autonomous workflows in production.
• Familiarity with MLOps, LLM observability, cloud-native AI platforms, and large-scale data infrastructure.
• Experience working with enterprise customers and an advanced technical degree.
