Rocket Test Manager

Location: Folsom, California or Reno, Nevada. On-site work in test facility environments with approximately 15–20% travel.

Salary: $186,000–$235,000 USD per year, base salary.

What you will do

• Lead test engineers and technicians across concurrent rocket motor and DACS programs.
• Own test planning, procedure development, execution, data review, and reporting from facility certification through production acceptance.
• Act as Test Engineer and Test Conductor for static-fire, qualification, and production acceptance campaigns.
• Lead design, startup, certification, checkout, and operational readiness for high-pressure liquid and gas test stands.
• Direct thermal, shock, vibration, and altitude testing on energetic and inert hardware.
• Present test plans and results to DoD and MDA customers, program management, and systems engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one, is required.
• 15+ years of integration and test engineering experience for rocket propulsion systems, including leadership of engineers and technicians.
• Hands-on Test Engineer and Test Conductor experience across R&D, qualification, and production acceptance campaigns.
• Experience with controllable solids, solid and liquid DACS kill vehicle systems, axial propulsion, and high-pressure test stands.
• Experience with instrumentation and controls, test data analysis, PHA, PFMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Nice to have

• Experience with MDA Assurance Provisions and PMAP requirements.
• Field test experience at government flight test ranges, outdoor test facilities, or aviation processing facilities.
• PMP certification or equivalent program management training.
