Lead, Propulsion Test Engineer (Rocket Propulsion)

Location: Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, United States; onsite role.

What you will do

• Lead engineers and technicians conducting liquid rocket engine propulsion tests for the Archimedes engine.
• Generate and execute detailed test procedures and interpret test data for facility health and engine performance.
• Specify and procure components and propellants, and manage vendors and subcontractors.
• Plan and oversee facility schedules and establish requirements for new test capabilities.
• Support propulsion requirements development, configuration management, quality, cost, process control, and test-team safety.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of industry experience and an engineering degree.
• Experience in rocket propulsion, propulsion testing, and operations.
• Proven ability to lead teams delivering engineering projects from conception through operation.
• Experience in one or more areas including structural design and analysis, cryogenic systems, high-pressure gas systems, or high-fidelity dynamic fluid modeling.
• For work in the United States, eligibility under U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in an engineering discipline.
• Experience with liquid natural gas or liquid methane rocket propellants.
• Experience leading test programs from concept to completion and testing from subcomponents through full flight systems.
• Software development for data acquisition and control systems.
• Working knowledge of complex IT systems used in propulsion testing.
