Aerospace Systems Engineer

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States; primarily office-based with field testing travel and less than 20% remote work available. Restricted to US persons.

What you will do

• Define system architectures, interfaces, components, and system documentation.
• Author, validate, and trace requirements across hardware, software, system components, and test artifacts.
• Prepare and present design reviews within a cross-functional product team.
• Plan and execute component- and system-level verification and validation, including simulation and flight testing.
• Manage version control, staged releases, configuration management, and ongoing systems process improvements.
• Travel approximately one to three times per quarter for field testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience in aerospace systems engineering, with helicopter experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Experience with aircraft avionics or controls modification and test programs.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and apply appropriate engineering processes and levels of formality.
• Must be a US person.

Nice to have

• Experience adapting airframes for experimental capabilities and specialized missions.
• Experience with autonomous systems, software requirements and verification, defense markets, or safety-critical software systems.
