Location: San Mateo, California, United States; hybrid work with required office presence Tuesday through Thursday and optional presence Monday and Friday

Salary: $168,100–$211,760 USD annual base pay

What you will do

• Provide legal expertise on global privacy and cybersecurity laws, regulations, enforcement actions, and industry best practices.
• Advise Detection and Response and Global Security teams throughout security incidents, including triage, containment, remediation, regulatory reporting, and customer notifications.
• Lead cross-functional cybersecurity legal initiatives involving AI and agentic-AI governance, emerging regulations, and incident response improvements.
• Develop and improve security incident response policies and playbooks aligned with global privacy and security requirements.
• Partner with Application Security, GRC, Privacy Engineering, Global Security, and Infrastructure/Platform teams.
• Support corporate, employment, compliance, policy, regulatory, product, privacy, and commercial legal teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data security, privacy, protection, and governance.
• Expertise in U.S. and global data security and data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, NIS2, CRA, CCPA, COPPA, and PCI.
• Experience with Information Security teams, security incidents, breach reporting, customer notifications, and global data protection implementation.
• Training at a major national law firm; in-house experience is beneficial.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar; California Bar admission is preferred.
• For this U.S.-based role, candidates must have U.S. work authorization; future H-1B sponsorship may not be supported.
