TL;DR
Process Engineer IV (Aerospace): Designing and implementing manufacturing technologies, processes, materials, equipment, and tooling for aerospace and defense products with an accent on process qualification, materials performance, and regulatory compliance. Focus on analyzing failures and laboratory results, validating processes through statistics and DOE, and developing solutions for complex manufacturing challenges.

Location: Lynnwood, Washington, United States; onsite manufacturing environment. Access to controlled data may require US Person status under ITAR.

Salary: $143,529.80–$166,177.80 per year.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense applications, including power, sensing, and fluid solutions.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing technologies and processes for product development and capability enhancements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend materials, equipment, tooling, and alternatives for obsolete materials.
  • Conduct or supervise raw-material and finished-product testing, monitor material performance and shelf life, and evaluate deterioration.
  • Analyze product failures and laboratory results to determine root causes and develop corrective solutions.
  • Use statistical analysis, DOE, FMEA, and other tools to validate and qualify processes and equipment.
  • Prepare technical reports, material specifications, procedures, work instructions, and operational guides while supporting engineering handoffs and design reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience and experience using computer databases.
  • BA or BS degree in Materials, Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, or another engineering discipline.
  • Expert knowledge of assigned products or programs and strong statistics, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions, plan and accomplish goals, prioritize work, manage time, and communicate across organizational levels.
  • Ability to analyze and document materials and parts, including fluid, corrosion, fungal, and flame-resistance properties.
  • US Person eligibility may be required for controlled data access because the role is subject to ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials, or Chemistry.
  • Aerospace or military materials engineering experience.
