Inventory Analyst

Location: Secaucus, NJ, United States; onsite

Salary: $52,500–$70,000 annually

What you will do

• Collect, organize, and analyze inventory data from multiple systems for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
• Prepare inventory account analyses and reconciliations for monthly and year-end financial close.
• Analyze excess and obsolete inventory, carrying costs, inventory aging, RMAs, and RTVs.
• Monitor inventory adjustments, transfers, and variances; investigate discrepancies and root causes.
• Support inventory governance through ABC classification reviews, policy assessments, control improvements, and physical inventory audits.
• Prepare production activity and operational performance reports while partnering with Procurement, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Operations, and Finance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in inventory control, inventory analysis, financial analysis, manufacturing finance, manufacturing operations, or a related analytical role is preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, and data analysis techniques.
• Experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and translate complex data into actionable business insights.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, electronics, supply chain, or contract manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of SAP or another ERP system.
• Experience with Python, automation tools, inventory audits, internal controls, or compliance initiatives.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting and financial reporting principles.
