Engineering Manager, UI Framework (FinTech)

Location: Reno, Nevada, United States; hybrid work. Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Lead the UI Framework team responsible for the foundational systems and infrastructure powering front-end applications.
• Set the strategy and technical direction for the front-end framework, shared services, developer tooling, and platform APIs.
• Own systems for building, testing, bundling, and deploying front-end code, emphasizing reliability, performance, and developer experience.
• Guide lightweight backend services and infrastructure supporting front-end capabilities and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Design to create reusable solutions and influence technical direction across teams.
• Coach, develop, retain, and hire engineers while building a collaborative, high-performing organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in engineering management or technical leadership.
• Experience building and evolving front-end architectures for large modern web applications.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and React.
• Experience with front-end tooling such as Webpack, ESBuild, Bun, Jest, CI/CD, build pipelines, bundling, and deployment infrastructure.
• Experience designing platform APIs, frameworks, shared services, or developer tooling used by multiple engineering teams.
• Knowledge of backend and cloud infrastructure including Node, AWS, containers, and infrastructure as code, plus experience leading AI-assisted software development initiatives.

Nice to have

• Experience leading platform, developer infrastructure, shared-services, or developer experience teams.
• Experience with large-scale React applications, TypeScript-first frameworks, AWS CloudFront or S3, and containerized architectures.
• Experience improving front-end or build performance and designing systems for AI-assisted or agentic development.
• Experience in FinTech, investment management, or complex data-heavy enterprise applications.
