Senior Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid work from the Arlington, VA office, with an expectation of being in the office at least 50% of the time monthly, typically three days per week.

Salary: $208,000–$260,000 USD annual base salary, plus equity and additional compensation components.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for complex, long-term, cross-team engineering initiatives and define engineering strategy.
• Lead development of the hirify.global Global Card, including customer-facing screens, APIs, and card, balance, and money-movement services.
• Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and engineering leadership to prioritize roadmaps, define OKRs, and drive execution.
• Manage quarterly goals, resource allocation, prioritization, and organizational design.
• Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop engineering managers and engineers.
• Promote safe and effective adoption of AI and agentic coding tools to improve productivity and product velocity.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience; MS preferred.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on technical management of full-stack software, API design, and server-client interactions.
• 5+ years of recent experience hiring and managing technical teams, including performance management.
• Expertise in at least one backend or full-stack language, such as Go, Kotlin, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, performant software on cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Experience applying AI to developer productivity or product features, including enabling safe AI tool adoption.
