Data Center Operations Lead (Electrical)

What you will do

• Operate and troubleshoot medium and high-voltage electrical distribution systems, including generators, switchgear, and UPS units.
• Execute switching operations, lockout/tagout, and energization procedures in compliance with NFPA 70E and arc flash standards.
• Lead electrical incident response and perform root-cause analysis to ensure maximum facility uptime.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs for rapidly scaling data center environments.
• Monitor and respond to alarms via BMS and EPMS platforms to prevent outages.
• Train and mentor junior operators to maintain high operational standards.

Requirements

Location: Must be based in Abernathy, TX (On-site)

• Extensive hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting 480V to 15kV+ electrical distribution in hyperscale or large colocation data centers.
• Deep knowledge of generators, medium-voltage switchgear, and monitoring platforms (BMS/EPMS).
• Expertise in NFPA 70E, arc flash boundaries, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Proven track record in shift-based or on-call critical facility operations.
• Ability to operate independently and build procedures in environments with incomplete documentation.
• Experience training and raising the standard of a technical team.

Nice to have

• NETA certification
• Journeyman or master electrician license
• Commissioning experience on greenfield data center electrical systems
