Data Center Technician

Location: San Jose, United States; on-site in the San Jose data centers five days per week with shift work

Salary: $105,000–$140,000 annual salary; salaried non-exempt and eligible for overtime

What you will do

• Rack, label, cable, and configure new server, storage, and network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in advanced data center systems.
• Document data center layouts and network topology in DCIM software.
• Coordinate with supply chain and manufacturing teams on timely system deployments and large-scale project plans.
• Manage parts depot inventory and track equipment through delivery, staging, deployment, and handoff.
• Coordinate with hardware support and RMA teams to resolve tickets, return faulty parts, and order replacements.

Requirements

• Familiarity with critical data center infrastructure, including power distribution, airflow management, environmental monitoring, capacity planning, DCIM software, structured cabling, and cable management.
• Fluent English and Spanish.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow installation and documentation standards.
• Action-oriented approach and willingness to learn.
• Willingness to travel for the bring-up of new data center locations.

Nice to have

• Server hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with or knowledge of network topology.
• Familiarity with JIRA and Zendesk.
• Linux administration experience.
• Experience in large-scale distributed data center environments.
• Experience with Supermicro and NVIDIA hardware.
