Staff HVAC Regulatory Compliance Engineer (HVAC)

What you will do

• Analyze and interpret building codes and standards affecting HVAC product application, installation, commissioning, and compliance.
• Monitor federal, state, and local regulatory changes, code adoption calendars, jurisdictional amendments, and enforcement trends.
• Identify code requirements that influence product design, features, and development opportunities.
• Represent the business in ASHRAE, IEC, AHRI, AMCA, NFPA, and related industry activities, translating developments into roadmaps and stakeholder presentations.
• Manage compliance dossiers and coordinate testing and certification with UL, Intertek, CSA, and AHRI-accredited laboratories.
• Develop technical white papers, journal articles, conference presentations, webinars, and application materials.

Requirements

• 5+ years of HVAC regulatory compliance experience in residential light commercial, commercial refrigeration, or process HVAC.
• Deep working knowledge of IECC, ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, and state and local amendments.
• Hands-on experience managing UL, CSA, AHRI, and ETL testing and certification programs.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards.
• Ability to write clear, authoritative, code-cited technical documentation.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and ability to translate technical requirements into practical business solutions.
