Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually

What you will do

  • Own assigned additive manufacturing products, processes, and development activities from concept through production support and continuous improvement.
  • Provide engineering support for laser powder bed fusion production, including build readiness, workflow coordination, issue resolution, and technical risk escalation.
  • Develop operation sheets, work instructions, manufacturing process definitions, and training content.
  • Assure design integrity, producibility, quality, and product performance for additively manufactured hardware.
  • Lead investigations into build interruptions, nonconformances, and hardware failures, implementing root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and validate additive manufacturing parameters, post-processing methods, tooling, fixturing, gauging, and equipment concepts while coordinating with cross-functional teams and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, product, process, or project engineering.
  • Working knowledge of CAD, mechanical drawings, GD&T, and engineering change or configuration control practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis, root-cause, and corrective-action skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across engineering, operations, quality, planning, supply chain, program, and customer teams.
  • Ability to work onsite in Buffalo, NY.

Nice to have

  • Experience with metal additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion.
  • Experience with work instructions, manufacturing process documentation, post-processing, heat treatment, fixturing, and precision inspection.
  • Experience supporting aerospace or space hardware programs, qualification testing, proposal activity, or failure investigations.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, design of experiments, process validation, or simulation tools.
