Wound Closure R&D Summer 2027 Intern (MedTech)

Location: Raritan, New Jersey, United States of America; onsite work at the Raritan site

Salary: $23.50–$52.50 per hour

Johnson & Johnson MedTech develops medical devices and technologies for surgical and minimally invasive procedures, including sutures, hemostasis products, surgical staplers, trocars, and energy devices.

What you will do

• Perform hands-on laboratory work in engineering labs.
• Conduct engineering studies and develop fixtures for wound closure and healing products.
• Generate models and technical drawings in SolidWorks.
• Fabricate prototypes and evaluate them through surgeon Voice-of-Customer events.
• Write test protocols, prepare final reports, and document meeting minutes.
• Collaborate with engineers and outside suppliers on project activities.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the internship.
• Pursue a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Have completed at least the freshman year and be available to work 40 hours per week from May 3 through August 27, 2027.
• Be permanently authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.2; strong organization, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Have access to personal transportation to the Raritan, New Jersey site.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with SolidWorks.
• Leadership experience or participation in campus programs or community service.
