Hardware Engineering Intern

Location: San Jose, CA; full-time, in-person work required throughout the internship

Pay: $19.20–$26.40 per hour; stated pay rate: $25 per hour

What you will do

• Document engineering work in the product lifecycle management system.
• Design, build, and test components for instruments, manufacturing automation, and consumable devices.
• Analyze data and present results, project status, and conclusions.
• Participate in brainstorming meetings and contribute ideas for new products.
• Attend meetings and seminars to understand departmental functions and their business impact.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in mechanical engineering, physics, bioengineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least two years of college completed, including the sophomore year.
• Ability to work full-time in person for the duration of the summer internship.
• Strong logical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Excellent data analysis and presentation skills, with the ability to learn and work independently.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Python, Arduino, or LabVIEW.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks and CAD.
• Experience with 3D printing, soldering, and electronics.
