Mechanical Engineer (Summer Intern 2027) (Aerospace)

Location: West Lafayette, Indiana, United States. Onsite summer 2027 internship.

Compensation: $21–$24 per hour, based on prior intern experience.

What you will do

• Complete a designated engineering internship project with defined deliverables and operational impact.
• Lead and coordinate project activities while applying engineering coursework in a production environment.
• Support production and design of the T-7 trainer by evaluating production nonconformances.
• Develop potential design solutions and contribute to design improvement opportunities.
• Work with a mentor and senior engineers to receive feedback and understand aircraft design and production functions.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
• Enrollment in an accredited Engineering or related degree program.
• Completion of freshman year or more by the fall 2026 hiring period.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong teamwork, communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, deliver high-quality work, and lead change.

Nice to have

• Prior internship or co-op experience.
