Wind Technician (Wind Energy)

Location: Deer Grove, Illinois, United States; work is performed at Green River Wind Farm and requires travel to district sites and US training facilities up to 15%.

Salary: $50,000–$65,000 per year, plus eligibility for overtime and a gainsharing program.

What you will do

• Service and maintain wind turbines at Green River Wind Farm.
• Perform work inside wind turbine enclosures at heights of up to 300 feet.
• Improve daily wind farm operations and complete repairs efficiently.
• Work with electrical systems, PLC programming, converters, and related mechanical or hydraulic equipment.
• Collaborate with technicians and support additional wind farm responsibilities.
• Travel to district sites and US training facilities up to 15%.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic field is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, PLC programming, and converters.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, lift, bend, twist, and work in confined spaces and extreme weather.
• Body weight of 265 pounds or less and successful completion of a job-related physical examination are required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization; a valid passport and driver's license are required.
