PSL&D Instructional Designer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Groton, Connecticut, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $99,200–$165,400, plus a 12.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Design and develop end-to-end learning experiences using adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
• Create eLearning, web-based training, instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training, on-the-job training, job aids, performance support tools, videos, and assessments.
• Build modern digital learning assets with authoring and multimedia tools, including interactive modules, animations, simulations, infographics, and digital job aids.
• Use AI-enabled content development, adaptive learning, immersive learning, VR/AR, simulation-based learning, and gamification.
• Partner with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to define learning needs, review content, and manage multiple projects.
• Analyze learning data and learner feedback to evaluate impact and improve the learning portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, learning and development, education, organizational development, human performance technology, communications, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of instructional design experience in a corporate, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or regulated environment.
• Experience designing eLearning/WBT, ILT, VILT, OJT, learning assessments, and performance support tools.
• Proficiency with eLearning authoring and multimedia development tools.
• Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
• Strong project management, communication, stakeholder management, and portfolio presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-enabled learning design tools, UX design, gamified learning, simulations, scenario-based learning, or immersive content.
• Knowledge of VR/AR learning technologies.
• Experience supporting leadership, technical, scientific, operational, or compliance-related learning programs.
