Learning Experience Design Manager (Digital Learning)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.

Base pay range: $140,000–$170,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead client engagements and workstreams covering learning strategy, instructional design, curriculum development, implementation, measurement, and digital adoption.
• Design learning experiences across instructor-led, virtual, blended, microlearning, e-learning, video-based learning, and performance-support formats.
• Create learning strategies, roadmaps, training plans, storyboards, prototypes, executive materials, simulations, explainer videos, animations, infographics, and job aids.
• Establish governance models, templates, accessibility practices, design standards, and quality controls for scalable learning assets.
• Lead training, change management, communications, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement activities supporting transformation initiatives.
• Build client relationships, advise senior stakeholders, contribute to proposals and thought leadership, and develop internal learning tools and methodologies.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, training development, consulting, organizational change, or workforce transformation.
• Hands-on experience developing e-learning, video-based learning, blended learning, microlearning, and digital performance-support solutions.
• Experience leading client projects or workstreams with accountability for delivery, quality, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional systems design, ADDIE, SAM, agile learning methods, and learning experience design.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured, creative, scalable, and user-friendly learning solutions for working teams and executives.
• Strong communication, visual storytelling, collaboration, relationship-building, and prioritization skills in fast-paced client environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Camtasia, Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, Adobe Captivate, Vyond, Canva, Synthesia, Adobe Creative Cloud, PowerPoint, LMS/LXP platforms, and AI-enabled content creation tools.
• Instructional Design, ATD, CPTD, Prosci, Project Management, or related certification.
