Accessory Product Engr. (Automotive)

Location: Houston, Texas; reliable, consistent on-site attendance is required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

What you will do

• Develop and launch mechanical or electrical automotive accessories from concept through development, PPAP, and production.
• Manage the Stage Gate process, project milestones, deliverables, and model-year carry-over activities.
• Create DFMEA and DVP&R documentation aligned with OE standards, regulatory requirements, and internal expectations.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, accessory weights, configurations, packaging, and design-for-manufacturability information.
• Apply VA/VE, lean, root-cause analysis, and continuous-improvement methods to optimize cost, installation, quality, and performance.
• Coordinate with Demand & Supply, Quality, Operations, Sourcing, suppliers, and launch teams to ensure supplier readiness and production installation readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing Stage Gate processes and using VA/VE methodologies in accessory development.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or CATIA, including 2D and 3D modeling.
• Knowledge of automotive systems, accessories, manufacturing processes, OE testing, validation, and regulatory requirements such as FMVSS and DOT.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship are required.

Nice to have

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification.
