Quality Systems Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Maintain and continuously improve the plant Quality Management System and ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and BOS standards.
• Coordinate LPA and ELPA processes, plant-level internal audits, IATF certification activities, and facility audits.
• Administer BOS requirements, change proposals, updates, document numbering, record retention, and document control systems.
• Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, process maps, audit workbooks, and other quality documentation.
• Monitor quality KPIs, support customer satisfaction and production quality deliverables, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train employees and leadership on BOS requirements, quality systems, process changes, and SharePoint administration while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience may be considered.
• At least 5 years of experience in a Quality Technician or Quality Engineer role, including required Quality Systems and manufacturing experience.
• Formal training and demonstrated experience with IATF 16949, ISO/TS 16949, TQM, continuous improvement, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, SPC, and MSA.
• Certified Internal Auditor certification required; ASQ certification is preferred.
• Strong analytical, root-cause problem-solving, organizational, communication, computer, and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, safety rules, procedure manuals, and technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Automotive Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 supplier and high-volume manufacturing experience.
• Automotive seating systems or seating mechanism experience.
• Experience with GMAW and laser welding operations or assembly manufacturing processes.
• Advanced quality systems and auditing experience in automotive manufacturing.
