HVAC Service Estimator

Location: Long Island City, New York, United States. Monday through Thursday onsite with colleagues; Fridays offer flexibility to choose the work location based on work requirements.

Annual base salary range: $61,300–$108,675. Compensation type: exempt hourly.

What you will do

• Create quotes for service agreements and other quoted work supporting Service Account Managers and Controls Service Account Managers.
• Prepare cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, service work, startup, and construction-related activities.
• Develop detailed scopes, system sketches, scope definitions, exclusions, preliminary proposals, vendor and subcontractor quotes, and points lists.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and project risk items while keeping estimates aligned with industry standards.
• Lead pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to review project scope and bidding strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field preferred, or 1–3 years of related estimating experience.
• At least five years of HVAC technician experience may substitute for estimating experience.
• Working knowledge of construction systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, is preferred.
• Experience with financial and business acumen and managing projects on time and within budget is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work overtime as required; experience working directly with building owners is a plus.
