Central Administration supports the university's schools, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and surrounding communities through collaborative administrative and operational services.
What you will do
- Support the Unit or General Manager in overseeing a residential dining operation and delivering a welcoming hospitality experience.
- Lead, assign, coach, and mentor hourly and temporary service staff while maintaining clear performance expectations.
- Monitor food quality, sanitation, safety, inventory, cost control, and loss prevention standards.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, guests, frontline staff, union representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee equipment, facilities, dining areas, receiving areas, and physical plant maintenance, escalating repair needs as required.
- Manage timekeeping, timecards, absences, staffing coverage, catering execution, and applicable board program operations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with financial and human resource management in a food industry environment.
- Experience managing in a unionized environment and communicating with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Kronos or a similar timekeeping system; knowledge of FoodPro is preferred.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts; the role requires prolonged standing, walking, and lifting approximately 20–30 pounds.

Nice to have
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience with catered event sales and execution.
- Ability to become ServSafe Certified within six months of employment.
- Passion for food and knowledge of current food trends.
