Lead Instrumentation & Control Engineer (Water)

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, and related facilities.
• Oversee I&C design, programming, systems integration, quality control, construction-phase services, testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare and review control narratives, instrumentation schedules, P&IDs, network diagrams, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Lead and mentor engineers, designers, programmers, and technicians while coordinating staffing, workload, performance, and professional development.
• Manage client relationships, proposals, scopes, fee estimates, project approaches, and business development for the water and wastewater market.
• Establish technical standards and expand services in SCADA, PLC programming, industrial communications, cybersecurity, telemetry, instrumentation, and systems integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in industrial engineering consulting, water and wastewater engineering, controls integration, or related design and construction services.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams, managing technical staff, delivering projects, managing clients, and developing proposals and business opportunities.
• Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, or other process-control environments.
• Professional Engineer license required; ability to obtain licensure in additional states is preferred.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, scopes, and staff resources.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Controls Engineering, Controls Theory, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Ability to obtain professional licensure in additional states.
