Outside Property Claim Representative (Insurance)

Location: 100% remote, with responsibility for insureds and agents in the New York City area and northern, central, and southern New Jersey; must reside in or be willing to relocate to the assigned territory at personal expense. The role includes field inspections, mobile work, catastrophe deployments to other states for a minimum of 16 days, and physically demanding property access.

Annual base salary: $67,000–$110,600, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Handle moderate-severity first-party property claims throughout the full claim life cycle, from customer contact and coverage investigation through evaluation, negotiation, and resolution.
• Conduct field inspections, document damage with photographs, prepare written or computer-assisted estimates, and validate contractor and independent adjuster estimates.
• Analyze policies, leases, contracts, bylaws, business interruption calculations, limits, deductibles, and other documentation to determine coverage and settlement amounts.
• Establish reserves, manage claim inventories and diaries, maintain accurate files, and comply with internal quality standards and state regulations.
• Negotiate settlements with insureds, contractors, agents, and other representatives; prepare denials, reservation-of-rights letters, and complex correspondence.
• Participate in catastrophe response deployments, resolution desk rotations, legal proceedings when needed, and multiline claim handling.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of outside property claim handling experience or successful completion of the hirify.global Outside Claim Representative training program.
• Valid driver's license and passport.
• Bachelor's degree and at least two years of outside property claim handling experience preferred for the ideal candidate.
• General knowledge of Xactimate and intermediate-to-advanced skills in investigation, damage evaluation, coverage analysis, negotiation, organization, communication, and customer service.
• Ability to inspect structures, carry and set up a 38–49-pound ladder, walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces during catastrophe deployments. Insurance licenses and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification may be required and must generally be obtained within three months of starting.
