Manager, AI and Data Science

Location: Telecommuter, working from home; hiring is limited to specified U.S. states

Salary: $131,900–$237,400 national range; $150,300–$270,500 national plus range for higher-cost labor markets.

What you will do

• Build and lead a team of data scientists, machine learning scientists, and experimental engineers.
• Guide the development, prototyping, testing, and validation of AI/ML models for complex healthcare challenges.
• Oversee model performance monitoring, drift detection, retraining strategies, and production reliability.
• Promote reproducible experimentation, peer review, responsible AI, fairness, and explainability.
• Partner with business, analytical, and technical stakeholders to evaluate impact and translate scientific concepts into decisions.
• Mentor team members and establish documentation, agile experimentation, and continuous learning practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2 years leading analytical or scientific teams and 5 years developing and validating AI/ML solutions and conducting quantitative analytics.
• Experience with Python data science libraries, statistical analysis, supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and generative AI.
• Experience with SQL, MLOps frameworks, model monitoring, productionization, experimentation, and iterative development.
• Experience with healthcare and healthcare data, responsible AI practices, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Applicants must be located in one of the listed U.S. states.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in a quantitative, computational, or scientific field.
• Experience with NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, scikit-learn, SHAP, LIME, Statsmodels, PyMC3, XGBoost, LightGBM, Hugging Face Transformers, or spaCy.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, microservices, distributed computing, and container orchestration.
• Experience managing academic or industry research partnerships.
