Data Scientist Manager (AI)

Location: Toronto, ON, with hybrid work and 40% home office per week

Salary: 158,200.00–208,200.00, including target bonus

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Data Scientists and AI professionals.
• Design, develop, deploy, and scale enterprise AI, machine learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions for commercial operations.
• Own the AI product lifecycle from opportunity identification and problem framing through experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and value realization.
• Provide technical leadership on AI approaches, solution architecture, model selection, implementation practices, and responsible AI.
• Drive adoption by communicating technical concepts and data-driven recommendations to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Engineering, Platforms, Architecture, and business teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Physics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, or related disciplines.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Generative AI or LLM applications and familiarity with Agentic AI frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing Data Scientists, ML Engineers, AI Engineers, or Analytics professionals.
• Strong expertise in machine learning methodologies, Python, production AI/ML frameworks, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, Snowflake, vector databases, APIs, and enterprise data platforms.
• Fluent English required; the role is based in Toronto with hybrid office attendance.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, and Confluence.
