TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Platform (Robotics): Owning the embedded Linux platform, OTA update systems, fleet management, and observability infrastructure that keeps autonomous agricultural robots running in the field with an accent on Yocto-based operating systems, remote deployment, and fleet reliability. Focus on designing atomic update and rollback paths, building device provisioning and telemetry systems, and debugging distributed machines across unreliable connectivity.

What you will do

  • Own OTA updates across the robot fleet, including image builds and signing, staged rollouts, rollback, recovery, and delivery to Linux modules and CAN-connected controllers.
  • Build fleet management infrastructure for device identity, provisioning, configuration, secrets, remote access, and software-version tracking.
  • Develop observability for intermittently connected edge devices, including telemetry, metrics, logs, health signals, dashboards, and alerting.
  • Maintain Yocto-based operating system images, BSPs, kernels, device trees, system services, boot and recovery paths, and reproducible builds.
  • Design CI/CD, cross-compilation, artifact management, and release infrastructure for ARM64 embedded targets.
  • Partner with firmware, autonomy, and field operations teams while bringing up hardware and supporting field deployments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience in embedded Linux, infrastructure, or robotics platform engineering.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Rust, C/C++, and Python.
  • Experience with Linux systems programming, including networking, IPC, process management, systemd, and device drivers.
  • Experience with Yocto/OpenEmbedded, Buildroot, or custom BSPs, including kernel and device tree development.
  • Experience with OTA systems, fleet device management, observability, AWS or equivalent cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and ARM64 cross-compilation.

Nice to have

  • Embedded firmware, bare-metal or RTOS development, hardware bring-up, and CAN bus systems such as J1939 and UDS/ISO-TP.
  • Experience with NVIDIA Jetson/Orin, L4T, secure boot, image signing, and key management.
  • Knowledge of ROS/ROS2, Zenoh, agricultural or off-road robotics, functional safety, and low-bandwidth fleet deployments.
  • Experience with data infrastructure, time-series storage, log pipelines, developer tooling, and reproducible embedded development environments.
