Senior BMC Firmware Engineer (Embedded Linux)

Location: Duluth, Georgia, United States. US citizenship is required, and satisfactory proof of the right to work in the United States of America is required.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end design, development, validation, and release of BMC firmware for server platforms.
• Define embedded Linux firmware architecture and interfaces using C/C++ and Python, and document key technical decisions.
• Lead board and silicon-vendor bring-up, enabling I2C/I3C, PECI, SPI, GPIO, PWM/TACH, and JTAG interfaces.
• Develop Redfish and IPMI manageability interfaces, secure boot, attestation, and CVE remediation features.
• Diagnose complex cross-layer firmware and hardware issues across kernels, drivers, services, and applications.
• Establish testing, CI, code review, documentation, and release-readiness practices while mentoring engineers and collaborating with hardware, BIOS, QA, and product teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of embedded or firmware development experience, including shipped BMC or comparable embedded Linux products.
• Strong C/C++ and Python skills with deep knowledge of embedded Linux internals, including kernels, drivers, U-Boot, systemd, and D-Bus.
• Experience with device drivers, board bring-up, hardware debugging tools, OpenBMC, Yocto, BitBake, and Git workflows.
• Experience owning features from architecture through release and resolving complex multi-component issues.
• US citizenship and the right to work in the United States of America are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Redfish/DMTF, PLDM, MCTP, SPDM, secure boot, attestation, and manageability standards.
• Upstream or open-source contributions and community engagement.
• Experience integrating silicon-vendor SDKs, tuning performance and power, and hardening security.
