Software Engineer II Embedded (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design, build, and test onboard Linux software for vision-based navigation, autonomy, and mission systems.
• Integrate sensors, processors, and robotics systems onto uncrewed aircraft.
• Own features from design and implementation through automated testing and deployment.
• Translate software requirements and algorithm designs into reliable, well-tested code.
• Participate in design reviews and improve shared software across multiple programs.
• Occasionally travel within the local area and Continental United States.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent education and experience.
• 2–5 years of software development experience, or equivalent internships, research, personal projects, startup work, or strong recent graduate experience.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or C, with a solid understanding of object-oriented design.
• Experience developing on Linux, writing tests, debugging code, and using Git and modern development tools.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected individual with qualifying asylee/refugee status; U.S. person eligibility is required for ITAR/EAR-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience with UAS, drones, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or embedded systems.
• Exposure to computer vision, machine learning, or embedded sensor integration.
• Experience or strong interest in ROS2 on Linux/ARM.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks, Docker, and CI/CD workflows.
• Advanced degree and interest in AI-assisted development tools.
