What you will do

  • Prepare semiconductor samples and perform initial physical failure analysis for product yield, reliability, quality, and customer-return investigations.
  • Identify electrical, thermal, mechanical package, and component failures.
  • Conduct delayering, mechanical polishing, and electron microscopy imaging to isolate and characterize defects.
  • Track failure analysis cases, maintain reports and documentation, and follow up on investigations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
  • Improve failure analysis automation, tools, methodologies, and techniques while sharing learning across sites.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Electronics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in physical failure analysis or sample preparation.
  • Must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.
  • Ability to work onsite in San Jose, California, United States.
