Location: Pullman, Washington, United States; onsite at the Pullman campus

Salary: $97,700–$144,400 annually

What you will do

• Lead and organize a material science and electronics failure analysis laboratory team.
• Review work requests, prioritize investigations, and assign work across the laboratory team.
• Lead investigations of moderate technical complexity and collaborate with external suppliers.
• Provide technical guidance to project stakeholders and mentor team members on analysis methods.
• Develop failure analysis methods, standard operating procedures, and laboratory work control processes.
• Manage operational metrics, expenses, staffing and capital investment proposals, personnel concerns, and laboratory safety risks.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering or science, with four or more years of combined leadership and supervisory experience.
• Skills in materials, electronics, or mechanical analysis.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, delegate work, and remove obstacles.
• Professional communication, documentation, writing, and speaking skills in English.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing or World Class Manufacturing in a laboratory environment.
• US citizenship or a Green Card is required.

Nice to have

• Four-year degree in physical science or electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments, ISO 9001 or ISO 17025, and internal auditing processes.
• Technical training and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of structured programming and practical skills with Word, Excel, and Access.
