TL;DR
Project Manager (Defense Technology): Managing cost, schedule, performance, technical integration, and operational demonstrations across portfolios of defense projects with an accent on stakeholder coordination, analytical studies, and strategic decision support. Focus on developing technical roadmaps, enabling prototyping and experimentation, briefing executive leadership, and operationalizing emerging technologies for future warfighting concepts.
Location: Air Force Research Laboratory in the Dayton, Ohio area, United States

What you will do
- Manage cost, schedule, performance, investment decisions, and coordination across a portfolio of projects.
- Align technical leads, industry, academia, government stakeholders, Intelligence Community representatives, requirements developers, and end users.
- Develop, integrate, synchronize, and coordinate technical solutions, operational demonstrations, prototypes, and experiments.
- Prepare decision briefs, cost-benefit analyses, technical roadmaps, strategic initiatives, and analytical presentations.
- Lead technical integration initiatives, review emerging technologies, and support Future Warfighting Concepts.
- Coordinate capability needs, requirements documentation, planning, and actions with the customer and branch leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and briefing senior leadership or C-suite members.
- Experience with communication network hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity.
- Experience with DoD architectures and associated compliance requirements.
- Ability to develop unconventional solutions, perform rapid analytical studies, and work collaboratively or independently with customers at multiple echelons.
- Active TS/SCI clearance required.
Nice to have
- Strong business acumen or an MBA.
- Knowledge of U.S. Army or Joint-Service design methodology.
- Experience developing warfighting concepts.
- Knowledge of analytic research, valuation, and forecasting techniques.
