Sr Software Engineer (HVAC Controls & System Integration)

Salary: $85,000–$101,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead system integration testing for HVAC controls, gateways, and cloud-connected platforms.
• Set up lab environments that replicate field conditions, including electrical wiring and system-level troubleshooting.
• Analyze BACnet, Modbus, RS485, UART, and other communication logs to identify root causes.
• Verify point lists and interfaces between HVAC equipment and building automation systems, optimizing interoperability across devices and networks.
• Act as the technical liaison between North American operations and Global HQ, communicating validation results and market needs in Korean and English.
• Support pre-sales assessments, onsite control-system evaluations, technical documentation, training, distributor support, and regulatory monitoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in HVAC controls, system integration, or a related controls industry.
• Hands-on system integration testing and strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with RS485, Modbus, and BACnet communication protocols.
• Ability to establish lab environments and perform electrical wiring and PCBA-level testing.
• Fluent Korean and working English communication are required; candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with VRF or ductless mini-split systems.
• Experience with embedded systems or microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with cloud-connected HVAC platforms or mobile control applications such as LG ThinQ.
• Programming experience in C, C#, or similar languages.
• Experience developing technical documentation or training materials.
