Viewing Application Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Onsite in Milford or Warren, Michigan, with expected onsite work 4–5 days per week. The role is not eligible for relocation benefits. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship, and candidates must already have the required U.S. work authorization.

What you will do

• Support the development, integration, and validation of vehicle viewing systems, including rear-view camera, surround view, transparent trailer, and curb view.
• Work with software and algorithm development teams to evaluate new vehicle and bench features.
• Support viewing-feature tuning and integration into various ECUs.
• Perform issue triage, root cause analysis, and feature-quality reviews.
• Lead camera calibration and alignment activities as a subject-matter expert.
• Design, build, and execute road and staged data-collection activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with software development teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with JIRA and vehicle-based software testing methods.
• Ability to obtain an MPG driver’s license.
• Must work onsite in Milford or Warren, Michigan, approximately 4–5 days per week.
• GM immigration-related sponsorship is not available for this role.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the vehicle viewing domain.
• 7+ years of experience working with software development teams.
• Experience with algorithm development, performance tradeoffs, and software parameters.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
